Gun Accessibility

Over 11,000 Americans are killed annualy by guns in America. This number is astonishing compared to rates in other countries. A documentary producer named Michael Moore decided to raise awareness about this growing problem in America. He decided to make a documentary. He claims that gun accessability is one of the many reasons America has such high shooting rate. Guns can easily be bought along with ammunition and used by anyone in america. This creates an unsafe enviroment and it becomes a battle of everyone for themself.

Guns are easily accessible by Americans because the guns and ammunition are so cheap. Ammunition in the U.S. is substansually cheaper compared to other countries even though the demand is greater. In Michael Moore's Documentary, "Bowling For Columbine", he shows a clip from a comedy skit by Chris Rock. Chris Rock thinks bullets should cost $5000. He claims that if bullets were this expensive, people would think before they would shoot someone. This is true because people wouldn't go around shooting bullets everywhere because most people wouldn't be able to afford it.

Guns and ammunition are too easily accessible by irresponsible people. Michael Moore shows an animation of South Park about Americas history. In the animaton it shows Americans are in constant fear and are scared. This fear escalates even when things aren't bad. They use weapons to protect themselves. The americans don't know how to use the weapons properly and kill innocent people. Any person no matter how irresponsible can go buy a gun and use it.


Moore also shows some security tapes of a Highs School shooting in Columbine High School. The video shows two guys going into a school and opening fire on people in the school with 911 calls in the background. It shows how easy anyone can walk into a K-Mart and buy lots of bullets and then go to a school and shoot innocent teachers and children. people can go buy guns and ammunition without questions and use them for whatevere they want. it's a right in america called the second ammendment but not all rights should be exercised as freely as they are.
